How are truck tolls calculated on Prince Edward Island
For trucks, Confederation Bridge toll charges are calculated based on the number of axles. Calculate truck tolls to cross the toll bridge of Prince Edward Island and other toll bridges such as MacDonald and MacKay Bridges using Truck Toll Calculator.
How is the toll calculated for an RV towing a car
Tolls are charged based on the number of axles on a vehicle. A two-axled RV would be charged the same amount as a car. An extra charge would be added for the additional axles of the tow car and/or trailer.
How to pay toll on Confederation Bridge
The tolls for Confederation Bridge are collected when leaving Prince Edward Island at the toll plaza in Borden-Carleton, PE. Confederation Bridge tolls are tax-exempt. The following payment methods can be used to pay tolls at Confederation Bridge:
- StraitPASS – transponders you mount in your vehicle
- Cash
- Interac, and all major credit cards
Note: Video toll or Pay-by-Plate payment option does not exist for Confederation Bridge.
With two dedicated toll lanes, StraitPASS provides customers with faster transaction experience in addition to online account management. Tolls are post-paid as part of the customers’ monthly credit card statement.
What is StraitPASS
The StraitPASS[2], a transponder (tag), is an automatic post-pay toll collection system linked to a user’s credit card. It eliminates the direct use of cash, credit cards, certified cheques, money orders or gift certificates by utilizing a transponder mounted in the windshield to identify vehicles and authorize payment of the toll as a credit card transaction.
Refer to the StraitPASS page for more details on its benefits, how to get one, how to install it and more.
Confederation Bridge tolling agencies and contacts
