ThePortlaoise[1] (M7/ M8[2]) – Castletown/ Portlaoise – Cullahill motorway is located in the midlands of Ireland in County Laois. The toll road is on the M7 Limerick to Dublin route which also serves the Cork to Dublin route. The toll plaza is located on the section of the M7 between Junction 18 in Portlaoise West and Junction 19 at the M7/M8 interchange junction.
It is also a significant section of the M7 motorway link between Dublin and Limerick. All lanes are equipped with Electronic Tolling on the Portlaoise Bypass. MidLink M7/M8 Limited is responsible for the operations of the M7/M8 Portlaoise Toll Plaza and associated project road. The toll plaza is located at Fatharnagh, Mountrath, Co. Laois.

How to pay Portlaoise toll
The Portlaoise Bypass accepts the following payment methods at their Toll Plazas:

- Credit Cards- Credit cards are accepted in all lanes except the Express lanes. You can use VISA and Mastercard cards only. Debit cards are not accepted on Portlaoise Toll Plaza.
- Cash- Cash payment is accepted on all lanes on the M7 / M8 motorway with the exception of the Express Lanes (Electronic Tag only – far right-hand lane in both directions). Cash payment can be made where an operator is present in the tollbooth, or in any of the 4 Automatic Coin Machine lanes.
- Trip Cards- The trip card is preloaded with 20 trips for a specific vehicle classification depending on the requirements of the customer. Trip cards can be purchased for all 6 vehicle classifications as set out in the By-Laws. Trip Card application forms are available from all cashier lanes at the toll plaza.
